NUT research shows that less than 14 per cent of teachers feel confident that they can recognise a dyslexic child. Less than nine per cent that they can teach one, and four out of five teachers would like dyslexia training.
Currently 55% of children 'failing' SATS are at risk of dyslexia/SpLD yet with the right support dyslexics can be high achievers.
